SOWETO INTELLECTUAL EMPOWERMENT ACADEMY (SIEA)

EDUCATION, OUR LEGACY

At SOWETO INTELLECTUAL EMPOWERMENT ACADEMY (SIEA) we strongly believe that not only the department of education and schools uphold the sole responsibility of educating the nation but is the responsibility of every member of the society. Our project uses brilliant tutors from various tertiary institutions and also general members of the community to empower the intellectual capabilities of our youth by educating them. We are a tutoring program enriching grade 12 students from schools around the Soweto Township with the necessary academic assistance they require to make of themselves successful candidates or rather academics of the society. Our main focus is students who struggle academically and are considered as underperforming. Ours is to ensure that these students have their hope restored and their potential stimulated because we believe that every child can learn, they just do so at their own pace as well as comfort zone together with the proper guidance and Someone who believes they can.
The academy intends on closing the gap between the quality of education provided by private institutions as well as that which is provided by the public schools. There are also students who academically underperform because they do not afford extra tuition therefore we also provide quality extra tuition that is almost affordable to students coming from diverse backgrounds.
Our Educational project is based at Vuwani Secondary School, Chiawelo In the Soweto Township

GROUP TUTORIAL SESSIONS.

With hard work and consistent commitment, excellent grades are obtained.

With our organization’s mission always in mind, we strive to find new strategies for dealing with this challenge. Students who struggle academically end up having to forfeit writing some of their final examinations. This drives them backwards as they stand to watch their peers move forward with their studies while they sit to write on the upcoming examinations. Our project uses tutors instead of teachers because most students still fear reaching out to their educators about their academic challenges therefore tutors are more like peers to those students and ensure that they are able to adopt a sense of academic zeal and commitment as well as the motive and desire to learn. The program uses group extra classes and on going tutorials to help grade 12 Students excel on their studies and obtain good marks that guarantee them a place at tertiary.
